In this 4-week engagement we combine traditional classroom training with cloud and FinOps consulting, and agile ways of working.

You will develop the knowledge and skills to realise cloud value utilising the Experience-Based Acceleration (EBA) methodology.

We will 'empower' your teams to implement and improve your FinOps practices to overcome these common challenges, and make the changes needed to reduce costs.

Initiation

This is a 4-week professional services engagement utilising the EBA methodology, to train and empower your teams to implement FinOps best practices and changes to reduce cloud costs.

  • We will utilise the AWS Well Architected Framework to asses your current FinOps maturity and jointly review the output to understand improvements and deliver training to address gaps.

  • We will guide you to implement costs observability utilising cloud native tooling.

  • We will then asses your AWS architecture and current spend and usage, and guide you to select architectural improvements that will optimise and reduce costs.

  • We will define the goals for the execution event and ensure the right teams are enabled and available to participate.

Preparation
Execution
  • Our senior AWS FinOps specialists will begin by working backwards to understand your current challenges related to AWS cost and usage and utilising FinOps best practices.

  • The engagement culminates in a 1-day agile execution event facilitated by us to bring all your relevant teams together i.e. Engineering, Development, Finance, etc.

  • In this event empowered by our AWS FinOps experts your teams will collaborate to implement and improve FinOps practices, and the architectural changes required to reduce costs.

  • Utilising agile ways of working to accelerate business value and FinOps enablement through a proven learn through experience working model.

Review and Accelerate
  • We will complete a retrospective and validate the outcomes of the execution event, identifying next steps to continue your FinOps best practice implementation and cost optimisation.

  • EBA agile methodology and FinOps enablement of your participating teams.

  • End to end engagement management including facilitation and hosting of the agile event by our agile EBA experts.

  • Senior AWS FinOps experts supporting and empowering your teams to implement FinOps best practices, make cost savings and deliver business value.

1. Fixed price 4-week engagement: GBP 11,800

2. An agreed % of the successful savings delivered in the engagement - Typically between 10-20% depending on the level of savings.

How do we save costs in the engagement?

In the 1-day execution event any cost savings identified through the WAF assessment, the observability implementation, and review of your architecture will be implemented by your teams supported by our experts to reduce your costs in real time.

Who has their "hands on keyboards" making the technical changes?

This done by the customer teams as this is a core principle of how your teams learn through experience.

What agile ways of working will we utilise in the engagement?

The execution event is run as an agile sprint with ceremonies. Each team will define their sprint goals, epics and user stories into a backlog during the preparation and utilise a Kanban board in the event. A retrospective will be run post the engagement to identify lessons learnt and next steps to continue your FinOps best practice implementation and cost optimisation. This is part of the EBA methodology engagement we will do with your teams.

How do you ensure leadership buy in?

A senior customer sponsor is a pre requisite for a successful engagement to ensure the goals are aligned to business priorities, and to rally support within the organisation to provide resources and the required cross-functional teams.

What number of participants take part in the 1-day execution event?

Typically 10-15 customer participants will take part dependant on your organisation's structure and the goals of the engagement.
